The Year 3B class at The Willows State School are leading the charge in their school for the Try for 5! M&J Chickens Challenge, posting a 95% attendance rate for Semester 1.
Class 3B’s attendance was the highest in the school for the semester, with all students awarded a special attendance badge and certificate to recognise their efforts.
The students were encouraged to wear their badge to remind themselves and others of the importance of attending school every day.
Cowboys community ambassador, Ray Thompson, congratulated Year 3B at their first ambassador visit for the challenge.
“For a class to achieve this attendance rate for the first semester is a fantastic achievement,” he said.
“It’s a reflection of the great work from the teachers, students, parents and carers and we look forward to seeing their results next term.”
As a preferred supplier for the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys and the Cowboys Community Foundation, we’ve joined the Try for 5! family as a program partner in 2019. This fantastic initiative is active in 21 schools across Queensland.
“As a member of the local community for over 10 years, M&J Chickens has a keen interest in supporting grassroots initiatives like Try for 5!” said Billy Hussein, National Marketing & Communications Manager for M&J Chickens.
“We believe that education is a positive enabler of personal and broader community development and we are privileged to be associated with this project.”
The Try for 5! program motivates and rewards individual classes and schools for their attendance record during the challenge period, and engages students and families using the club’s profile and ambassadors.
